Moroccan Cyclist Alroboahat
05 August, 2018KHARTOUM (Sudanow) – Moroccan cyclist Mohamed Alroboahat arrived in Khartoum this week at the last leg of his seven African countries bicycle journey on his way to the Muslim Holy land, in Saudi Arabia, to perform the fifth Islamic pillar of Haj
Al-Roboahat said the aim of his journey is also to deliver a message of peace to the African countries through which he travels on his way to the holy lands.
The other purpose of the journey is to recall the historical trips of great Arab travelers such as Ibn Battuta and Alidreesi as well as the ordinary African pilgrims who used to cross these vast areas riding camels and more often on foot to reach Mecca and Medina to perform Islamic Haj
Started last April, the trip took Alroboahat through Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Niger, Mali, Chad and the Sudan.
Though the trip is sponsored by Moroccan embassies in these countries “warm African people welcome and hospitality have helped me much during this journey,” he said.
