Khartoum, May 31 (Sudanow)- The National Congress on Tuesday says it distances that the security council could resort to Chapter 7 in dealing with the question of Abyei.
The Secretary of Information in the national congress party, professor Ibrahim Ghandour, has warned that resorting to this chapter in dealing with this particular issue of Abyei would constitute a grave mistake of high cost not only for the south or the north of Sudan but for the whole international community.
In statements to journalists on Tuesday, Secretary Ghandour has stressed that at the international community was wise enough to take such a decision , which it does not need , and that could make such an important region in central Africa, as the case with the Sudan, be broiled with problems pregnant with problems .
"As we have been able to put an end to the longest war in the continent in 2005, we don’t think the question of Abyei could be much more difficult, and it is possible to reach a political solution and we desire to reach final solution that would not return us to the square of war once again." Professor Ghandour stressed.
