Dr. Jihad Abdelgadir Imam

Dr. Jihad Abdelgadir Imam is the first Sudanese female in the United States to be appointed as a Neurological Surgery Resident, Duke University Medical Center, North Carolina.
Graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Khartoum in 2014, Jihad was the first non-American to match specifications required by the hospital for this job.
Jihad has done her Master of Science (MSc) on Global Health at Duke University (2014 – 2016).
Besides her excellence when she was a student, Jihad was known for her extra-curricular activities. She worked as Regional Assistant for Human Rights and Peace, International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (Oct. 2010 – Oct. 2012), President of Medical Students' International Network –Sudan (2013-2014), Young Women Knowledge and Leadership Institute Fellow, African Women Millennium Initiative (Dec. 2012 – Dec. 2014), Member of Association for Medical Education in Europe (2013-2014).
