L: Hanadi, Khadmallah and Reemaz
KHARTOUM (Sudabow) - The World football governing body (FIFA) has named three Sudanese female referees to run the upcoming clash between Chad and Algeria, slated for 9 April, in the Chadian Capital, Ndjamena, within the Tokyo 2020 Olympics primaries.
Referees Khadmallah Koko will run the clash, assisted by her countrywomen Reemaz Khalil and Hanadi Ismael on the right and left lines, respectively. The FIFA has also named the Kenyan Anita Nibangor as the fourth referee while Litry Hogban (Togo) will monitor the referees and Alice Gondo will monitor the match in general.
The Sudan Football Association’s Central Committee of Referees had earlier handed the international badge of referees to four Sudanese referees, namely: Aala’a, Belgeese, Batool and Nasreen as the first women to obtain this certificate in the history of Sudanese football.
The first female referee in the history of Sudanese football was Ms. Muneera Ramadan in the 1980s, though she did not obtain the international badge of referees.
Meanwhile the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has named Sudanese international referee Waleed Mohammad Ahmed as assistant referee (left) for the Super African match between the Esperance (Tunisia) and the Alraja (Morocco) football clubs on 9 April in Doha, Qatar. The match will be refereed by the Ethiopian Bamlik Tesemma (Center) and South African Sulela Zgaili (right assistant).
Referee Waleed had shone brightly as assistant referee in the recent World Cup finals in Russia.
