KHARTOUM (Sudanow) - Plan International Sudan has appointed renowned TV presenter Ms. Mawada Hassan as its first ever goodwill ambassador. 

Mawada Hassan, a graduate of the Khartoum University Faculty of Arts, and an eminent journalist and presenter for Blue Nile TV, has had an extensive experience advocating for the rights’ of women and girls before joining Plan, as she first began utilizing her national platform over eight years ago to influence communities to provide safe spaces for girls during her weekly Blue Nile FM television show, Khaleek Mokhtalif Ma’a Mawada Hassan (Dare to Be Different, with Mawada Hassan). 

After undergoing a preliminary orientation process on Plan International Programs and Policies, Mawada has officially been named as the face of Plan International’s ‘Girls Get Equal’ campaign in Sudan. Additionally, in her role as a distinguished public figure, Ms. Mawada will help raise awareness, promote, and contribute to the betterment of Children’s Rights at a national scale. 

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. In its five year global strategy 2017-2022, Plan International sets a global target of reaching 100 million girls to be able to Learn, Lead, Decide and Thrive.
