Mawlid: A Message Of Love For The Prophet Mohammad
01 November, 2020KHARTOUM (Sudanow) — While devout Muslims around the globe are busy celebrating the birth day (Mawlid) of The Prophet Mohammad (Allah’s Peace Be on Him), an ignorant person rekindles insulting caricatures to The Prophet. That person had indeed no knowledge of the esteemed position of Prophet Mohammad, bestowed upon him by Allah, the Almighty, His close, great angels and the faithful Muslims.
Even an enemy of the Prophet in Mecca, where he grew up and declared the faith of Islam, was obliged one day to concede that he had never seen a person so much respected and adored by his followers like Mohammad.
It is in the Muslim faith that faith is not complete without the love of Mohammad (Peace Be On Him), nor can happiness be attained without a visit to Almadeena Almunawwara, his city of burial. That visit is cherished by Muslims, all Muslims, who are keen to do it and pray exactly where he used to pray, in the Holy Rawda.
This great love of The Prophet has obliged outstanding Sudanese fine artist Kamala Ibrahim Ishaq to turn down the order of the French Republic for Arts when talk about those silly caricatures was renewed and when she was opening an exhibition of her drawings at the French Center here on the 2nd of October 2020.
Kamala had further stopped the display of her exhibition.
Kamala said she was taking that position in condemnation of The French President’s statement considering the caricatures part of personal freedom.
Other Muslim artists and sportsmen have expressed similar sentiments around the world, raising the slogans: We sacrifice ourselves for your own good sake, The Almighty’s messenger, … “Anyone except the Prophet”… and “My Love to Allah’s Messenger.”
Throngs of devout Muslims had also raised these slogans as they marched in many Muslim cities.
This movement had raised the awareness of those who had never heard about this great Prophet and enthused many to convert to Islam:
According to a report written by Jihan Mustafa on the Website “The Way of Islam” it was a few hours after the 2008 anti-Islam short film, Fitna, was published on the internet in Netherlands, than three Dutch nationals would declare their conversion to Islam. The film, that tied the attacks which occurred in the West after the 2001 incidents in New York to some verses in the Koran, has prompted thousands of Dutch youths to rush to the bookshops in Amsterdam to buy translated copies of the Koran until all available copies of the holy book were dried up from those shops.
Four days after the film defaming the Prophet was screened the Vatican announced that the number of Muslims had exceeded the number of Catholics, rendering the followers of Islam the biggest in the World (19.2 to 17.4% of the world population).
The number of Danish nationals who converted to Islam jumped by five thousands after the caricatures defaming Prophet Mohammad were published by The Jyllands-Posten newspaper in 2006. And when the caricatures were republished in February 2008, the number of new converts to Islam in Denmark ranged between five to ten every week, most of them from the young generations."
The Dutch Arnoud Van Doorn, former deputy chairman of the ruling party (PVV), which is seen as the most extreme Netherlands right –leaning parties and an ultra opponent of Islam, who produced the demeaning film ”Fitna”, converted to Islam in 2013 and became board chairman of the Unity Party, an Islam-based party. He also became ambassador of celebrities in the Canadian Islamic Association in Europe.
Soon after his conversion, he performed Hajj in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, and visited the Prophet’s Mosque. He said that the overwhelming reaction of Muslims around the world against the film Fitna made him interested to learn more; all this led to his decision to convert to Islam. He stated, "Right now I am still feeling regret for having distributed the film. I have a responsibility to correct the mistakes that I've done in the past."
Later, his eldest son, Iskander Amien De Vries, followed him in converting to Islam in 2014.
However, there is consensus among Muslim scholars not to pay attention to those frequent caricatures and not to share them with others until they fade away on their own. ”We have to ignore whatever stifles Islam and its Prophet in order to prevent their dissemination,” advise the scholars.
Muslim Scholar Mohammad Alamin Ismail said in a symposium on the issue organized: “Kill what is wrong by ignoring it. And if you are a lover of the Prophet you have to follow what he had taught. The Prophet’s position is very high. Allah had chosen Him from all mankind for his message and made him the leader of all messengers and the final of all prophets.”
“Prophet Mohammad is guarded against all sorts of insults and sarcasm. To reply to those ignorant it is better to educate them about the Prophet, his merits, his good morals, his compassion, his mercy for all of Allah’s creation, humans and animals; and his love of the poor. We have to give a good example of how a good Muslim should be, by applying the morality of the Prophet.”
As for Islam, the last of the holy religions, it is protected by Allah against all sorts of defamation or deviation when He said in the Koran:”We have revealed the Koran and We will preserve it.”
In his book “The 100”, American writer Michael H. Hart had ranked The Prophet Mohammad number one among the most influential persons in the history of mankind.
Wrote Hart: “My choice of Mohammad to lead the list of the world's most influential persons may surprise some readers and may be questioned by others, but he was the only man in history who was supremely successful on both the religious and secular levels.
Of humble origins, Mohammad founded and promulgated one of the world's great religions, and became an immensely effective political leader. Today, thirteen centuries after his death, his influence is still powerful and pervasive."
Hart added “The majority of the persons in this book had the advantage of being born and raised incenters of civilization, highly cultured or politically pivotal nations. Mohammad, however, was born in the year 570, in the city of Mecca, in southern Arabia, at thattime a backward area of the world, far from the centers of trade, art, and learning."
In an indication of the Muslims’ love of Prophet Mohammad, the Chechnya Minister of the Press and Information has reportedly earmarked a prize of 100,000 rubles for every family that receives a newborn on 28 and 29 of October and names him Mohammad, in a celebration and love of the Prophet.
In the same token, Muslims love the rest of Allah’s messengers and prophets.
In this it could be suitable to recall the recent message sent to the French President by his countrywoman Sufi Petronin (or Mariam Petronin after she became a Muslim who converted to Islam after she saw and heard how her Muslim abductors in Mali behaved, how they respected Jesus Christ, His Mother Mary the Virgin and the rest of Allah’s messengers:
They had never abused my religion, nor Jesus nor his Mother, the Virgin Mary, as you do with Prophet Mohammad.
Muslims in Mali believe in all of Allah’s prophets, even Jesus and his mother Mariam, after whom I renamed myself because I saw how they love and respect her.
They love Jesus more than we do in our country which let the blood of innocents and looted their riches in the name of Jesus.
They treated me and the other hostages with the morality of Jesus we used to study in the churches, but never practice them in real life.
These people have no high-rising buildings nor Parisian perfumes. But their ambitions are high up, above these.
It is my hope that you reconsider your position towards this noble religion (Islam), which is the message of all profits from Adam, then Jesus and finally the master of all humans, Prophet Mohammad, God’s Peace Be Upon Him.
