Goodwill Ambassador
30 April, 2018KHARTOUM (Sudanow) - Sudanese Ms. Aaida Abdul Hamid al-Gimish has shined during her work in the United Arab Emirates as a journalist dedicated to social issues and engaged in humanitarian voluntary work.
She was appointed a UN Goodwill Ambassador in 2014 in recognition of her role in advancing the humanitarian and social responsibility of media institutions.
The Arab Women Institution bestowed on her in 2015 the title of Goodwill Ambassador for Women and Children in the Arab world.
Ms. Gimish has won a number of awards during her career including the Distinguished Press Coverage of Social Issues Award presented by the Emirates’ Society for Social Development in 2016 for her investigative report on suffering of kidney dialysis patients.
Sharjah University’s Communication Faculty honoured Ms. Gimish this week by filming a documentary of her life.
