Gold Medal Winner
07 July, 2019
KHARTOUM (Sudanow) - Sudanese Film Director Saifeddin Hassan has won the gold medal for his documentary film Saleel Alfaradeses (The Descendent of Heavens) in the recent Arab documentary film contest.
The contest was organized in Tunisia on the sidelines of the festival marking the 50th anniversary of the Federation of Arab TV and Radio Stations.
Hassan’s film depicts, from a Sudanese perspective, the life along the River Nile from source to mouth, concentrating on people’s lives and the cultures and economies associated with the Nile.
Director Hassan had already won ten awards for documentaries on the different aspects of social and economic activities in the Sudan and the country’s cultures.
He won last March the Arab Center for Tourism Information’s Award of Best Director for the Ard Alsomor documentary series that depicts nearly all aspects of Sudanese culture, arts, economy, traditions, geography and demography.
The occasion was attended by a big gathering of dignitaries and communication experts, including former manager of Sudan National TV Ali Shummo, who was one of the Federation’s founders.
