Sudanese Schools And Universities To Be Closed
14 March, 2020
KHARTOUM (Sudanow) – The Sudanese authorities on Saturday decided to close all schools and universities for a month to control the spread of coronavirus.
The first confirmed coronavirus case in Sudan was announced on Friday following the death of a 50 year old man.
A cabinet urgent meeting also directed the security organs to support the Ministry of Health in implementing the quarantine measures. Military hospitals in the capital and the states should be used, according to the cabinet, as accommodation and treatment centres.
The Sudanese Certificate exam will be held according to the scheduled time unless otherwise be noted. The cabinet meeting decided also to take extra health measures in the prisons and reformatories.
The meeting directed the ministries and public and private institutions to take measures for reducing crowding at workplaces.
Crowding in social occasions is also prevented. Market surveillance should be conducted and prices should be controlled.
