Autumn 2025: Rains Exceed Expectations

PortSudan, (Sudanow) - Great concern has spread among farmers due to the delayed autumn this year. Autumn is the planting season, and they rely on rainwater for irrigation and pasturage. However, this year's autumn exceeded all expectations. With the beginning of July, heavy rains continued to fall in several Sudanese states, including Khartoum, Blue Nile, and Kordofan. But what surprised people even more was the descent of dense clouds and hail in the Al-Hashaba area in North Kordofan State, a sight that caught the attention of tourism activists, leading them to circulate a number of videos and photos on social media.

There are many areas in Sudan named Al-Hashaba: one in North Kordofan, another in White Nile, and a third in Al Jazirah. Here we are talking about Al-Hashaba which located in North Kordofan, it's known for its heavy rainfall and abundant cultivation of acacia trees, which produce gum arabic, hence its name.

Professor Reda Mohamed Nour, a tourism expert and trainer, stated: "The Dinder area is considered a natural reserve from before the war... Most of its visitors were from the Arabian Gulf... We had attempts to revitalize tourism and attract foreign workers to our country in the form of weekly programs and trips from Thursday morning to Saturday evening, and this idea brought us good indicators and returns for the prosperity of this activity."

Professor Reda added that the Dinder area is designated for wildlife hunting and camping trips after the autumn season, and therefore the state government should pay attention to it.
