KHARTOUM (Sudanow) - The 12-day Sudan 7th Nile Marathon concluded Sunday with the competitors rowing for 785 kilometres from Khartoum to  Meroe in the northern state.
 
Alsir Adam from Maina Club, Sinnar State claimed the first prize while the second and third places went to  Hassan Othman and Moumin Mohamed from Tuti Island Club respectively. 
 
Organized by the Sudanese Rowing and Kanoe Federation, the Marathon is the longest in Africa in which 25 contestants participated. 
 
The Association used to organize the competition annually since 2011 with non_Sudanese taking part occasionally.
