In a remarkable Sudanese global achievement by Knowledge Ambassadors, Ambassador Professor Dr. Elsadig Musa Ahmed, Professor of Economics and Technology Management at Multimedia University Malaysia, was honoured to be included among the top 2% of scientists in the world. This prestigious list is published annually by Stanford University and the international publishing house Elsevier. The list includes the names of the most cited researchers in various disciplines for two consecutive years, 2024 and 2025, in the field of economics and management research.
This prestigious list highlights the world's most prominent scientists who have made a significant impact in their fields through the impact of the research citations they prepare and publish in journals with Research Impact Factors and listed in the SCOPUS database.

To learn more about the author of this great achievement, Sudana met with Professor Dr. Elsadig Musa Ahmed, Professor of Economics and Technology Management at the Multimedia University Malaysia, via telephone from his residence. He spoke about his academic and professional journey, saying: "I was born in the Joda area of White Nile State. Educational Stages: Kilo 15 Primary School, North Upper Nile; Al-Qaygir Intermediate School, North Upper Nile; Renk Secondary School, North Upper Nile, South Sudan. Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Economics, Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt; Master's Degree in Development Economics, Universiti Putra Malaysia; Doctorate in Development Economics, Universiti Putra, Malaysia.
Work since 2004: Professor of Economics and Technology Management, Multimedia University Malaysia. Member of the Multimedia University Senate for five years. Coordinator of Graduate Studies and Head of the Globalization and Sustainability Research Centre and other committees. Research reviewer for multiple scientific journals and conferences and editorial board member of numerous journals worldwide.
External and internal examiner for doctoral and master's theses at various universities.

Program evaluator and academic promotion reviewer for numerous universities worldwide.
Regarding the secret of excellence and success, Dr. Ambassador Elsadig Musa says that social upbringing and family play a major role in this distinction, since he belongs to the Kenana tribe in the Blue Nile, the family moved to the (Joda Al-Fakhar) area in the White Nile and then moved to the northern Upper Nile in southern Sudan in search of a better future where agricultural and commercial activity was attractive to many Sudanese families from all over Sudan and neighboring countries, with different cultural patterns, which had an impact in creating distinct personal components and creating competition, creativity and increased ambition. Family relationships were established between them based on a common destiny, so they became owners of everything from nothing. The family and society played a fundamental role in addition to the educational system that was distinguished in the seventies. The ambassador says that after completing secondary school, the big shift came after the establishment of the Kenana Sugar Company, where the family returned to the hometown of the Kenana area and owned land.
The ambassador was among the company’s employees, where he joined a job for two years until he became a storekeeper. He benefited from the company’s professional and global diversity, which was a motivation to continue his university education at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif University and postgraduate education in Malaysia, which he went to. At his own expense, he was the reason for sending a large number of Sudanese to Malaysia for postgraduate studies in the mid-1990s, as well as those who studied at his own expense.

He was consistently distinguished throughout his academic career and research projects.
He was helped by Malaysia's combination of modernity, Islam, and languages, particularly the proficiency in English, which provides opportunities for development unmatched in other countries around the world.
Regarding how the list was selected, Dr. Elsadig says that citation metrics are widely used.
It created a publicly available database that includes the most cited scholars, providing standardized information on citations, the h-index, the adjusted h-index for co-authorship, citations to research papers in different authorship sites, and a composite index (C-score). Separate data is presented for impact over a career's lifetime and separately for impact in a single recent year. Metrics of self- and non-self-citations, the ratio of citations to cited papers, data on retracted papers (based on the Citation Monitor database), and citations to and from retracted papers are presented. Scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields according to the standard ScienceMetrix classification. Field- and subfield-specific percentages are presented for all scientists with at least five published papers. Career data are updated through the end of 2024, and each recent year's data are assigned to citations received through 2024. Selection is based on the top 100,000 scientists according to a c-score (with or without self-citations) or a 2% or higher subfield percentage. This version (7) is based on the August 2025 Scopus abstract, updated through the end of the citation year 2024. This work uses Scopus data. Calculations were performed using all Scopus author profiles as of August 1, 2025. Professor Dr. Elsadig Musa Ahmed has received awards for excellent research , innovation, and leadership from international organizations and the Multimedia University Malaysia for many years.

Concluding his remarks to Sudan, Professor Elsadig Musa said, "There is no pure evil in this world. We must transform adversity into opportunities through which we can make our distinguished contributions to Sudan and humanity."

I dedicate this global distinction to erasing the sorrows of all Sudanese and those affected by grief around the world.
Life is not measured by the number of years a person lives, but by the feelings they hold toward others through investing in lasting good deeds, especially digital endowments that will last forever.
We must die empty-handed by spreading our ideas and contributions so that they may benefit humanity and endure forever.
