Festival Of Sudan’s Cultural Diversity
11 July, 2021
KHARTOUM (Sudanow) - Amidst a lot of fanfare, the park of the National Museum here on Friday saw “The Festival Of Cultural Diversity” the organizers say aims to turn the ethnic and cultural diversity of Sudan into a vehicle for peaceful coexistence.
Organized by the group “Trip Initiative” that brings together young volunteers who believe in the idea of diversity and its long term effect for the creation of a Sudanese environment devoid of tribalism and racism.
The festival saw colorful dresses, music and dances of sorts from all over the country.
The organizers say the festival was also part of their effort to rebuild a new Sudan after the December 2019 Revolution and the signing of the Juba peace accords and seeks to inform Sudanese about their diversity and positively reflect the country’s different cultures.
Beside the musical troupes of all the participating tribes, the festival has also put to display arts shows of different tribes that reflect the cultures, dresses, languages, history and social customs of the participating tribes.
