Afrabia Prize’s 3rd Version Launched
14 May, 2017KHARTOUM (Sudanow) – The Afro-Arab Youth Council on Saturday launched the third edition of its annual Afrabia Prize, jointly sponsored in collaboration with the African Union and Arab League.
Submission for the competition, which covers poetry, music, short stories and plastic arts areas, should be made from May 13th to October the 1st 2017.
Only youth in the age group 18-40 can participate in this competition, organizers stressed. Contribution shall be made in any of the three languages; Arabic, English and French.
In the last edition, the first winner in each of the four fields received $ 3,000. However this year organizers are promising more lucrative prices.
Saturday’s launching ceremony was attended by Assistant of Sudanese President, Ibrahim Muhmoud Hamid.
The Prize is put forwards by the Khartoum-based Afro-Arab Council, a nonprofit independent organization established in March 2004. Its membership comprises national and regional youth organizations from the
African and Arab regions.
