Student Devises Agricultural Aircraft
16 September, 2019
Al-Obayyid (Sudanow) - A Sudanese student has made an agricultural aircraft that can sense and analyze crop pest contaminations and then spray the required pesticide.
According to the inventor, Engineering Student Emad Hamid Abbakar of the University of Kordofan here, the aircraft is equipped with a robot, an infrared camera and a database of crop diseases that can be fitted to a computer or a mobile phone.
It is fitted with a tank that can release pesticides where required.
It is also fitted with a GPS sensor that helps direct the aircraft automatically without the need for human intervention. It can also be steered with a remote control hand-held by the operator.
Student Emad told Sudanow will represent East and Central African nations with this invention in the Warsaw (Poland) International Fair in October.
The invention had previously obtained the bronze medal in the Moscow International Salon of Inventions and Innovative Technologies “Archimedes”, also representing East and Central Africa.
