Sudanese Woman Wins Bin Rashid Award

DUBAI, UAE (Sudanow) - Sudanese professor Dr. Al-Shifa Adul Gadir Hassan has won the Mohammed Bin Rashid Knowledge Award (MBRKA) - 2018 for individual achievement category.
Dr. Al-Shifa is presently Head of the UNESCO-ALESCO Chair for Women in Science and Technology at the Sudan University for Sciences and Technology. She won the award for establishing a project for comprehensive eradication of scientific and technological illiteracy among women in three states of the Sudan.
HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Chairperson of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation honored the award winners at the fifth award summit ceremony on December 5-6 . The award value is US$ 1 million and is granted to best achievers in the fields of promoting, enhancing the development of human knowledge and enlightenment, and inspiring others.
The first institutional category winners are the Magdi Yacoub Heart Research Foundation, the Institute of International Education (IIE), the Saudi Digital Library (SDL), and the Amersi Foundation.
The Knowledge Summit 2018 brings together individual and institution experts from around the world in more than 34 countries. The award panel explores various submissions on knowledge, development, innovation, leadership, institutional development, scientific research, communication technology, as well as documentary and electronic publishing, documentation and archiving.
