Sudanese army announces killing of the rebel Dr. Khalil Ibrahim Sunday

Khartoum, Dec 25 ( sudanow.info.sd ) The Armed Forces on Sunday said leader of the rebel Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) Dr. Ibrahim Khalil, along with some leaders of his movement were killed in a heroic operation carried out by the army , at Wad Banda area in North Kordufan State.
A military communique issued by the armed forces official spokeaman, Colonel Sawarmi Khalid Saad, said government troops have succeeded in killing the leader of the rebel movement following an effective siege and direct clash to halt rebel assaults against innocent civilians in villages and nomadic camping areas.
Colonel Sawarmi has pointed out that the Armed Foces have managed to foil rebel attempts to sneak into South Sudan in order to re-organize their ranks and lines, the statement said.
The Armed Forces spokesperson has hailed the cooperation of civilians of Wad Banda locality who reflected an exemplary interaction between the people and the Armed Forces.
