Ruling National Congress Party, Parliament and Presidency welcome the change in Egypt

Khartoum, Sudan (Sudanow) - Sudan on Friday welcomed the political change in Egypt, says it stands ready to help Cairo achieve the aspirations of the people and to see Egypt regaining its vanguard role in Arab, Islamic and African arenas.
The Ruling National Congress party, the Presidency of the Republic, the Parliament and the Foreign Ministry issued separate statements few hours after President Mubarak stepped down, congratulating the Egyptian new leadership and stressing their support for the popular action.
“The transfer of power to the supreme military council reflects a pure national will that we hope will lead to the realization of the legitimate aspiration of the people” the foreign ministry said in a statement it issued on Friday.
Khartoum also expressed hope that “this popular change“would be a new page in the history of modern Egypt for the realization of the economic welfare and the political and social stability of the country.
“We look to it that this change would be a real prelude for the return of Egypt to perform its lead role in the region and a renewal of Arab and Islamic accord and cohesion” the statement said.
The Foreign Ministry statement said Sudan reaffirmed the need that the people of Egypt would reap the fruits of its national revolution and identify its choice and drawing its own political map.
“Sudan renews the deserved congratulation to the Egyptian people in the victory of the free people will and looks forwards to the development and the promotion of the distinguished brotherly relations to wider horizons and higher revelations in unity and cooperation and integration, by the impetus of history and joint fate and common interest for the sister peoples (in Egypt and Sudan)” the statement concluded.
Meanwhile a statement by the Presidency of the Republic has stressed that “The President of the Republic congratulates the brotherly Egyptian people for achieving their will and for the victory of their revolution which they watered with the high prized blood and huge sacrifices”. This statement was carried by the semi-official Sudan Media Centre said.
The SMC said the Presidency of the Republic of the Sudan has stressed that Sudan stands ready to extend limitless and strong stand beside the brotherly people of Egypt to realize their aspiration and to strengthen Egypt position and leading role in the Arab, African and Islamic world.
“Sudan stands ready to discharge its responsibilities towards its brothers in Egypt in support of their stability and in completion of their process of their revolution and Sudan looks forwards to a new phase in the history of our people which will be characterized by distinguished relation and joint cooperation for the common interest of our two people” the Sudan media centre quoted the presidency statement as saying.
