An italian national kidnapped in south Darfur Monday, search still continues

Khartoum, Sudan ( sudanow.info.sd ) - unidentified gunmen have apprehended and took away an Italian national in the troubled region of Darfur, capital of south Darfur.
The African Union United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) said in a statement it issued Monday that the Italian national was kidnapped in Nyala, capital of south Darfur and that local authorizes are still in search to locate him and his kidnapper.
The release said the Italian who was working for an INGO was kidnapped Sunday in Nyala, South Darfur.It added that the victim was in car with two Sudanese colleagues driving to the airport when four unidentified armed men, dressed in civilian clothes, stopped them.
"Perpetrators forced all occupants out of the vehicle and took the International staff member, an Italian, with them". It lamented, explaining that local authorities were investigating the case.
The statement has however failed to give the nationality or the name of the organization to which the man was affiliated. It also failed to give a hint as to whether the incident was masterminded by the rebel movements or by a group of thugs.
