Sudan minister of Defense: army recaptured oil rich town of Higlig

Khartoum,( sudanow.info.sd) – The Minister of Defense on Friday said the Sudanese Armed Forces have captured the area of Higlig, a Sudanese oil rich region on the border with South Sudan, and chased away the occupying forces of south Sudan.
“Your brave armed forces have been engaged in heroic battles during the last week, in which the forces of the enemy have sustained huge human and material losses.” The minister of Defense, General Abdul Rahim Hussein was quoted by the Sudan News Agency as saying in a statement it published evening Friday.
The Sudan News Agency has quoted Sudan’s minister of Defense as saying the Sudanese forces entered the areas shortly before midday prayer of Friday, leaving “huge number of losses” among the south Sudan troops.
“Your forces will continue its march, forcefully and diligently, after the remnants of the treason and the mercenary, everywhere until they are totally destroyed” the Minister said.
The Sudanese government official spokesman, the Minister of Information, Abdullah Masar, has meanwhile congratulated the Sudanese people over the takeover of Higlig town.
