Joint communique on the visit of H. E The President of the Republic of South Sudan to Khartoum, 3-4 September 2013

Khartoum, Sudan (Sudanow)-following is a joint communique issued at the end of the one day state visit by the President of south Sudan Salva Kiir Mayardit to the Sudan at the invitation of his Sudanese counterpart Omar Al Bashir. the full text:-
Joint communique on the visit of H. E The President of the Republic of South Sudan to Khartoum, 3-4 September 2013
In response to the kind invitation by H.E Omar Hassan Ahmed Al Bashir President of he Republic of the Sudan, H.E. Salva kiir Mayrdit President of the republic of south Sudan paid an official visit to the Sudan accompanied by a high level ministerial delegation to during the period 3-4 September 2013.
The visit comes in the context of the summit diplomacy which has been taking place between the two presidents to promote the relations between the two countries and to achieve their mutual aspirations.
A number of meetings were carried out during the visit including bilateral meetings between the presidents in addition to meetings on the level of ministers and technical high officials. Extensive discussions took place embodying all the fields of relations between the two countries.the discussions were carried out in a positive environment with frankness and a strong political will which enabled the two sides to reach understandings, paving the the way for the implementation of all cooperation agreements signed by the two countries, and the activation of agreed joint committee, including The High Level Joint Committee (HLC) and the Joint Implementation Committee (JIC).
In the same context the parties confirmed the importance of supporting and facilitating the mission of the two mechanisms suggested by the AUHIP chairperson President Thabo Mbeki in 9th of June 2013 regarding the identification of the zero line for h safe demilitarized border zone (SDBZ) and the ceasing of support- and harboring of rebel movements , to enable the mechanisms to complete their mandate as scheduled considering the vitality of their mandate for the provisions of security at border and for the establishment of corridors that would allow the smooth movement of people, goods and oil in addition to the cross border movements of pastoralists.
The two sides also agreed to jointly address the international community, supported by the AU-HIP for debt relief for Sudan and support for development in the two countries.
The two parties affirmed the importance of continuing their constructive dialogue for the resolving of the remaining and pending issues including Abyie and the borders. They emphasized the necessity of reaching a speedy agreement on the establishment of civilian institution in Abyei to pave the way for he two presidents to reach a final resolution for the issue.the two sides also agreed to facilitate the work of the African Union team (AUTE) to resolve the disputed borders areas issue and to immediately demarcate the agreed borderline.
During the visit a memorandum of understanding was signed between the ministries of foreign affairs in the two counties.
A number of employers federation members and businessmen of the Republic of South Sudan accompanied H.E the President of the South Sudan during his visit and memorandum of understanding was signed for the establishment of a joint Council for the businessmen in the two countries .
The two Presidents expressed hope that the outcome of the visit shall present a strong push to the relations between the two countries, and in this context call on the civil society organizations and the media in the two countries to play a positive role in realizing the objectives of aspired stability for the benefit of the two peoples.
The two sides also expressed their gratitude to the support and the encouragement of the regional and international community for the normalization of relations between the two countries and in particular they appreciate the efforts of AUHIP and the Peace and Security Council and the UNISFA.
