Sudan and Palestine Sign 18 Agreements

KHARTOUM (Sudanow.info.sd) - The Sudan and Palestine concluded on Saturday 18 agreements and memoranda of understanding on bilateral cooperation in the political, economic and cultural fields.

The documents were signed at the end of first session of the joint ministerial committee co-chaired by Sudanese Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ghandour and his Palestinian counterpart Riyadh al-Maliki.

Maliki arrived to Khartoum on Friday accompanied by a number of Palestinian ministers.

Addressing the meeting at Korinthia Hotel, Ghandour said the session has coincided with the lifting of US sanctions on Sudan which would signal a new era in Sudan's foreign relations. He affirmed Sudan readiness to promote relations between the two countries in investment field.

Al-Maliki said President Mahmoud Abbas is concerned with the convention of the joint ministerial committee which was one of the agreements he agreed upon with President al-Bashir during his visit to Sudan last July. He affirmed keenness of the two leaders to accelerate promotion of bilateral relations.
