Deposed President to stand traial next week: Attorny General

Khartoum, Sudan (PANA) – The Attorney General, Waleed Sidahmed, has officially announced that deposed president Omar Bashir will be brought to a court of justice next week, on charges of corruption and illegal possession of foreign currencies.
Sidahmed, the Public Prosecutor, told a press conference on Saturday that investigations with the deposed President Omar Bashir have been completed and charges were pressed against him.
He further pointed that charges will be pressed against forty one others of the vclose associated of president Bashir mostly accused of embezzlement of huge numbers of lands and real estates.
Land plots and real estate are considered a sign of wealth and value reservoir in the country, the more one possess lands the more one is considered rich in the urban areas of the country.
Shortly before the downfall of the government of Bashir, April 11, the social media circulated names and records of hundreds of land plots owned by senior officials in Khartoum and its suburbs, some possessing a whopping hundred pieces of lands, all registered in their names and that of family relatives. But it was still to be proved that these were illegally obtained.
Last week a leak from the office of the public prosecutor revealed that investigations have been completed and trial was imminent, it was only today that the move was officially announced by the state attorney, Sidahmed
